Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks an Additive Manufacturing Engineer (RAPTOR) to drive design, development, and testing of additive processes with a focus on machines, software, part design, and process optimization.

The role requires applying powder-bed and powder-fed methods, collaborating with design and materials teams to achieve robust print parameters, high-quality parts, and safe, scalable production in a space-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of hands‑on fabrication, assembly, testing, and/or project management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly present recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Drive and identify projects to robustify printer platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, and test additive processes.
• Implement process improvements at each step of the additive workflow.
• Advise design teams to optimize features for additive manufacturing.
• Generate/optimize build files for high-quality parts.
• Work with materials engineers to optimize print parameters and alloys.
• Develop systems to collect and analyze process data.
• Document best practices for new equipment and processes.
• Identify and implement safety improvements in additive manufacturing.
