Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7 years of aviation or related engineering experience.
• Knowledge of CFR 14 Part 23/25 and MIL-HDBK-516C preferred.
• Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project.
• Ability to review design packages and manage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute design, development, and qualification activities for actuators following the design phase gate process.
• Review and approve design packages and other deliverables produced by direct reports.
• Develop near-term and long-term strategic plans for growth and leadership development.
• Coordinate with department manager on program schedules, resource allocations, and priorities.
• Guide the team through complex technical issues to technical solutions.
• Participate in integrated engineering team meetings and coordinate multiple disciplines.
• Communicate status information to management, customers and authorities.
• Support recruitment of interns, entry-level and experienced engineers and contractors.
• Develop managerial skills through training and coaching.
