Optomec seeks an Aerosol Jet Applications Engineer to lead hands-on demonstrations of the AJ printing process and fabricate functional test parts for customers. You will work with the Advanced Applications team to evaluate customer requests and develop demonstrations based on AJ capabilities and available materials.
The role involves collaborating with product engineers and scientists on long-term R&D projects across areas such as printed antennas, semiconductor packaging, and embedded sensors.
The Aerosol Jet® (AJ) Applications Engineer works with the Advanced Applications team in driving and managing the technical evaluation aspects of the sales process. The Applications team must evaluate requests from customers and develop demonstrations based on the capabilities of the AJ process and available materials. The engineer will lead hands‑on demonstrations of the printing process, culminating in the fabrication of functional test parts for the customer. The engineer will also work with product engineers and scientists to advance the technology by participating in long‑term R&D projects. Current areas of application and market focus include printed antennas, advanced semiconductor packaging, printed circuits, medical devices, printed heaters, and embedded sensors.

Ideal candidate is self‑motivated with knowledge of electronics manufacturing, materials, processes and technology and excellent hands‑on skills. Candidate must thrive in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. The candidate must possess strong professional communication skills in areas of proposal and technical report writing, verbal presentations, and small group consultation.
