Job description

Job Title: Aerobiology, Animal Clinical Pathology and Telemetry (AAT) Senior Research Technician

Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is seeking candidates for this position to support a government customer at Ft. Detrick. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range for this exempt position is $85,000 - $95,000. This range represents the company's estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. We offer benefits including holidays, paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a 401K with company match. The job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Generate, characterize, and sample biological aerosols supporting pathogenesis and medical countermeasure studies against biothreat agents, including animal plethysmography, aerosol supervision, bacterial and viral assaying, and decontaminations.
  2. Investigate infection events in laboratory animals, support logistical and technical aspects of animal protocols, and manage study data entry and documentation.
  3. Complete study activities as per protocols, including sample processing, aliquoting, inactivation, and inventory management in BSL-2, BSL-3, or BSL-4 environments.
  4. Perform assays such as viral and bacterial characterization, ELISA, RT-PCR, microarray, cytokine analysis, and in vitro sample analysis.
  5. Conduct clinical pathology evaluations including hematology, clinical chemistry, urine, fecal, and coagulation analyses.
  6. Assist with data entry, manuscript and poster preparation, and present research findings at scientific conferences.
  7. Maintain laboratory space and equipment, record maintenance, replenish supplies, and notify leadership of needs.
  8. Mentor and train team members according to SOPs and regulations.
  9. Develop and review SOPs, respond to audits, and manage CAPAs.
  10. Collaborate on and support the development of the AAT technical training program.
  11. Assemble, calibrate, test telemetry systems, troubleshoot issues, and support animal studies in containment environments.
  12. Operate and maintain telemetry systems, maintain inventory, and analyze telemetry data.
  13. Maintain training records, perform weekly/monthly safety and containment area details, and report non-compliance issues.
  14. Provide technical support for animal protocols, including observations, sample collection, euthanasia, and tissue collection, in compliance with GLP standards.
  15. Report restrictions from containment, coordinate task coverage, and maintain required certifications (CS-PRP, BPRP).
