Job summary

Maryland State Police Aviation Command seeks a Pilot I-A to serve as Second-in-Command (SIC) for MSPAC aircraft. You will operate in aero-medical, search-and-rescue, and other law-enforcement missions in strict FAA-compliant accordance with SOPs and directives.

The role requires 1200 flight hours, FAA certifications, and a commitment to readiness. Based in Easton, MD, you will coordinate with the Pilot-in-Command and crew to ensure safety and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Experience: 1200 helicopter or fixed wing flight hours as a FAA certificated pilot.
• Substitution: military service or ICAO hours may substitute for experience.
• Hours: helicopter and fixed wing hours may not be combined to meet the requirement.

Responsibilities

• Flies MSPAC aircraft as SIC for aero-medical and law-enforcement missions.
• Conducts pre-flight and post-flight inspections according to MSPAC/FAA rules.
• Performs maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refueling, fluids, and bulbs replacement.
• Maintains hangar/office facilities; uses flight-related equipment as needed.
• Completes MSPAC/FAA paperwork and logs; participates in required training.
