Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of documented PIC experience flying Group 2/3 UAS.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
  • Military UAS qualification (e.g., Army 15C/15E/15W) or DoD Level 2/3 Operator preferred.

  • Execute pre-, in-, and post-flight checklists.
  • Safely fly and recover Group 2/3 UAVs in diverse conditions.
  • Plan missions by reviewing taskings, weather, and intel reports.
  • Operate payloads, EO/IR, and comms equipment.
  • Adhere to FAA regulations and DoD flight standards.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain aircraft, GCS, and LRE on site.
  • Provide on-site training and demonstrations to users.
  • Coordinate with customers and mission teams for deployment.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled UAS Air Vehicle Operator / Field Service Representative (FSR). In this role, you will fly Group 2 and Group 3 Unmanned Aircraft Systems for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and testing operations. Additionally, you will serve as the on-site technical expert, providing hardware maintenance, payload integration, and logistical support to customers and deployment teams.

What you'll do
Flight Operations (40%)
  • Execute pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checklists.
  • Safely launch, fly, and recover Group 2 and Group 3 UAVs in various environmental and operational conditions.
  • Conduct mission planning by reviewing taskings, intelligence reports, and weather data.
  • Operate and monitor sophisticated payloads, electro-optics (EO/IR), and communications gear.
  • Maintain strict adherence to FAA regulations, airspace guidelines, and military/DoD flight standards.
Field Service & Technical Support (40%)
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aircraft, Ground Control Stations (GCS), and Launch & Recovery Equipment (LRE).
  • Provide on-site technical assistance, including resolving hardware failures and software issues in remote or austere field environments.
  • Manage spare parts inventories, track equipment logs, and submit maintenance reports.
  • Deliver equipment training, orientations, and demonstrations to end-users.
Mission Coordination (20%)
  • Coordinate with customers, mission commanders, and ground crews to ensure mission objectives are met safely.
  • Assemble and disassemble UAS components for rapid deployment and redeployment.
  • Analyze and debrief flight data, performance metrics, and mission sensor logs.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of documented experience as a Remote Pilot in Command (PIC) flying Group 2 or 3 UAS.
  • Certifications: FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required. (Military UAS qualification (e.g., Army 15C/15E/15W) or a DoD Level 2/3 Operator certification is highly preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on maintenance experience with UAV propulsion systems, avionics, autopilots (e.g., Pixhawk, Piccolo), and ground support equipment.
  • Deployment Readiness: Ability to travel up to 50-75%, including deployments to remote, austere, or international field locations.
  • Physical & Background: Must be able to pass a background check and hold/obtain a security clearance (if required by defense contracts). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions

  • Hours vary based on locations but are expected to be 12-hour shifts while traveling for work.
