Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking an experienced Telecom Aerial Foreman to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems on site. You will supervise crew members, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and guide less experienced workers.

You will travel for storm response on short notice and complete daily work orders to document productivity and safety. The ideal candidate has experience in telecom line work and a strong focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• DOT physical exam passed with a valid medical card
• Minimum 3 years related experience in telecom/line work
• Pole climber certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems per codes and customer requirements.
• Ensure safety and smooth traffic flow at jobsites; supervise crew activities.
• Work safely at heights using climbing hooks and ladders; use hand/power tools.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and document daily work orders.
• Be available to travel for storm response on short notice; ensure compliance.
• Complete crew checks to monitor productivity and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Ensure work areas are safe and that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse
