Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a Telecom Aerial Foreman to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems. You will be the on-site expert, guiding crew members and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on every task.

Responsibilities include directing equipment operations, maintaining safe work sites, and supporting storm response on short notice. A strong focus on teamwork and mentoring is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related work experience.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam for medical clearance.
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become one.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain fiber/telecom cables and support structures per codes and customer requirements.
• Safely operate bucket truck, digger derrick, and excavators.
• Maintain safe work areas; ensure smooth traffic flow on site.
• Work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders; use hand and power tools.
• Provide guidance to teammates and mentor less experienced staff.
• Travel for storm response on short notice.
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators.
• Ensure work areas are safe and that traffic flows smoothly while on the job.
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders.
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws.
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed.
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice.
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds.
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse.
