Position Summary

Glass Roots Construction (GRC), founded in 2022 by a team of telecom and construction professionals, is seeking an Aerial Lineman. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead fiber optic and telecom networks. The ideal candidate will have a background in aerial construction, safety compliance, and teamwork. This position reports to the Market Manager and offers growth opportunities within our expanding company.

Role and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber optic and coaxial cables.
• Operate bucket trucks, climb utility poles, and use tools like lasher machines, span clamps, and cable reels.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and schematics for accurate installations.
• Perform line and pole maintenance, including equipment transfer.
• Ensure proper cable tension, spacing, and alignment.
• Troubleshoot cable issues and resolve service disruptions.
• Follow safety regulations, including OSHA standards, especially when working at heights.
• Communicate effectively with team members and project managers.

Qualifications and Education

• Experience as an Aerial Lineman in telecom or utility construction.
• Proficiency with aerial construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of safety standards, including fall protection and electrical safety.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with fiber optic installation and splicing.
• Knowledge of NESC standards.
• Proficiency with mapping and project management tools.
• Certifications in bucket truck operation or climbing are a plus.

Requirements

• Willingness to travel; 90% travel required.
