Job summary

Javelin Utility Services is seeking an Aerial Lineman Groundhand in Springfield, Oregon to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom fiber optic and coax cables both overhead and underground. You will assist journeyman linemen using line trucks, aerial booms, lifts, and wire-pulling equipment.

Requirements include 2 years of related construction experience, a valid driver's license (CDL preferred), ability to climb poles, work aloft up to 40 feet, and a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related construction experience.
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and aloft up to 40 feet.
• Read and understand schematics and construction prints.
• Ability to lift/carry 70 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed.
• Safety focused and able to maintain safe work environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman lineman and crew to install, construct, maintain and repair telecom fiber optic and coax cables, overhead and underground, using line trucks, aerial boom, lifts, and wire pulling equipment.
• Read and understand schematics and construction prints; troubleshoot field issues as they arise.
• Load and unload materials and equipment; manage tools and equipment.
• Perform underground activities such as placing cable/fiber in conduit as needed.
