Job summary

Zero dB Communications is seeking an OSP field technician to perform itinerant fiber work, including anchors, strand placement, cable lashing, and riser construction. You will ensure field work aligns with engineering specs and OSP standards.

The role involves maintaining and repairing aerial and underground fiber networks, completing accurate field documentation, and supporting project timelines. The position reports to the Spokane, WA office and requires up to 80% travel.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of previous fiber optic field experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard. CDL is preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
• Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift up to 75 lbs, squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather.
• Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work.
• Previous Lead/Foreman experience is a plus.

Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington with offices throughout the West Coast specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. An Aerial Underground Construction will perform tasks within the telecommunications construction industry.

This OSP field role performs itinerant fiber work, including anchors, strand placement, cable lashing, and riser construction. Technicians ensure all field work aligns with engineering specifications and established OSP standards. Core responsibilities include maintaining and repairing aerial and underground fiber networks, completing accurate field documentation, supporting project timelines, and delivering high-quality splicing and testing.

This position requires extensive travel—up to 80%—across metro, commercial, and rural sites, and reports to our Spokane, WA office.

Pay:

$23.00 - $33.50 per hour based on experience.

Requirements

Schedule:

• Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday, on call rotations required.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel.
• Travel will be required and may be up to 80% depending on business needs.

Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen, to include a drug test and an acceptable driving record. This is a safety sensitive position.
