Job summary

Utilities One in Chicago, IL is seeking an Aerial Lineman to join our Operations team under a contract arrangement.

You will install aerial and underground telecom cabling, travel to various job sites in the Indiana market, and operate lifts and ladders safely.

We provide all necessary tools, a company vehicle and fuel card, plus opportunities for professional growth. This role requires physical fitness, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work in all weather.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted driver\'s license required.
• Experience placing cables and telecom cabling.
• Frequent travel to multiple sites is expected.
• Ability to lift around 50 pounds and climb ladders, safely.
• CDL is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install aerial & underground telecommunications cabling, including fiber optics.
• Undertake pole removal & pole transfers, and set & install new aerial cables.
• Safely operate equipment and machinery.
• Operate hydraulic aerial lifts and ladders mounted to trucks.
• Keep a detailed record of work activity.
• Travel to different job sites within the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Install aerial & underground telecommunications cabling, including fiber optics;
• Undertake pole removal & pole transfers, and set & install new aerial cables;
• Safely operate specific equipment and machinery;
• Operate hydraulic aerial lifts and ladders mounted to trucks;
• Keep a detailed record of work activity;
• Travel to different job sites within the market.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• A valid and unrestricted Driver's License;
• Previous Cable Placement experience;
• Ability to travel to different job sites very frequently;
• Ability to lift around 50 pounds, safely climb ladders, and work in all weather conditions;
• CDL is preferred.
