Key tasks include traffic control, site preparation, equipment signaling, reading plans, material handling, trenching, and operating power units. A valid background check and DOT-physical are required as part of safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of underground construction for CATV telecom systems.
• Knowledge of machinery, tools, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety procedures on construction sites.
• Experience working in field environments and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Control traffic near work zones and manage safety.
• Prepare and clean construction sites to reduce hazards.
• Direct equipment operators to align machinery and materials.
• Read plans and specs to determine work activities.
• Deliver building materials and tools to job sites.
• Mark and measure openings for layout and work areas.
• Dig trenches and backfill to grade specifications.
• Operate pumps and generators to power tools.
• Set up or remove traffic barricades for safety.
• Lubricate and clean machinery and tools.
• Utilize directional drilling to bore holes.
