Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction is seeking a Laborer Telecom Aerial II to support the Aerial Telecom Crew in outdoor conditions. You’ll provide tools, parts, and materials to keep operations running smoothly, move equipment, and help maintain safety and efficiency on fiber and telecom installs.

The role requires 18+, US work authorization, a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to become a certified pole climber. On‑site, overtime and travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to become a certified pole climber.
• 0–3 years of labor experience, telecommunications preferred.
• Ability to work safely solo or in a team.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Pass a DOT physical to meet job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members to ensure efficient operations.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment under crew direction.
• Ensure door-tag notifications and resident alerts for construction activities are completed daily.
• Stock, clean, and maintain company vehicles and equipment for daily readiness.
• Perform manual excavation and minor repairs with shovels and hand tools as required.
• Direct and flag traffic flow according to local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call duties as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions to meet project deadlines.
• Assist with basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed to ensure efficient operations
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment under the direction of the crew leader
• Ensure door-tag notifications and resident alerts for construction activities are completed before work begins each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain company vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations
• Perform manual excavation and minor repairs with the use of shovels and mechanical tools as required
• Direct and flag traffic flow according to local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on‑call or after‑hours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions to meet project deadlines
• Assist with basic maintenance of tools and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver’s license (cannot be Provisional) with an acceptable driving record
• Willingness to become a certified pole climber
• 0-3 years of labor experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Ability to work safely and effectively in solo and team environments
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Additional Qualifications

• Pass a DOT physical to meet job requirements

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work at heights, handle fiber reels weighing up to 50 lbs, and operate in various weather conditions
