Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Lineperson to join our aerial crew on large-scale fiber-to-the-home construction projects in West Virginia. You will plan and execute field work, enforce safety, and guide your crew to meet project goals from bucket trucks to place cable equipment.

You will install fiber and coax cables to engineering specs, operate line equipment such as bucket trucks, reels, blowers, tuggers and rollers, and travel across the state as needed.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience as a lineperson or team lead on a fiber installation crew.
• Active CDL A is a plus.
• Ability to climb utility poles using climbing spikes and rigging, and experience operating and performing work in a bucket truck.
• Proficient in new build and pole transfers; knowledge in building strand, lashing, pole transfers & grounding.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license, appropriate to the requirements of the vehicle being driven, and a clear driver’s abstract.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements and background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate bucket trucks and/or other types of lifts.
• Setup and operate cable placing equipment such as Larson reels, fiber blowers, cable tuggers, cable rollers, and single or double lashing tools.
• Install strand and applicable hardware.
• Place fiber optic, coax cables, and traceable wires.
• Track and communicate daily production and materials.
