Job summary

Air Methods is seeking a registered nurse with critical care and flight experience to join their Clinical Flight Teams across bases in NY and beyond. You will deliver lifesaving care during air transport, perform assessments, administer treatments, and coordinate with pilots and Medical Directors.

Minimum three years of recent critical care, one year flight experience, and active RN license with required certifications are required; weight limits and scheduling expectations apply as part of this

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last 5 years.
• Pre-hospital experience preferred.
• Flight experience 1 year full-time required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice from initial contact to handoff to receiving facility.
• Maintain and demonstrate competency through ongoing education and licensure documentation.
• Coordinate equipment and aircraft management; report equipment failures promptly.
• Assist pilot with pre-mission checks and safety procedures.
• Serve as a flight resource for neonatal/pediatric transports.
• Participate in community engagement and education activities.
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff.
• Participate in meetings and committees as assigned.
