Henderson Scott is seeking an experienced AEM Solution Architect to lead the architecture and evolution of an enterprise digital experience platform for a major consumer brand. The role spans Adobe Experience Manager, headless delivery, modern frontend frameworks, APIs and cloud infrastructure.

You will define content models, drive multi-site and localization strategies, and guide AEM as a Cloud Service migrations while coordinating with engineering, security and product teams.

Job description

A global technology services organisation is seeking an experienced AEM Solution Architect to lead the architecture and evolution of an enterprise digital experience platform for a major consumer brand.

This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a modern, scalable ecosystem spanning Adobe Experience Manager, headless delivery, modern frontend frameworks, APIs, cloud infrastructure, CDN technologies and enterprise integrations.

What You’ll Do

• Own the architecture of enterprise-scale AEM Sites, Assets, Headless and hybrid solutions
• Define component frameworks, templates, content models, taxonomies and content structures
• Develop multi-site, multi-brand, localisation and content-governance strategies
• Architect Dispatcher configurations, caching models and scalable performance solutions
• Guide AEM as a Cloud Service migrations, cloud readiness and platform modernisation
• Define CDN and edge architectures using platforms such as Akamai, CloudFront, Cloudflare or Fastly
• Establish strategies for edge caching, routing, media optimisation, WAF and bot mitigation
• Lead frontend architecture using React, Angular or Vue
• Govern SPA and micro-frontend patterns and their integration with AEM
• Design Backend-for-Frontend services using Node.js, Java or Spring Boot
• Define secure and scalable API contracts, orchestration patterns and integrations
• Partner with engineering, security, infrastructure, product and experience teams
• Set standards for performance, accessibility, security, resilience and maintainability

What You’ll Bring

• 14+ years of progressive experience in digital platforms, engineering or enterprise architecture
• Expert knowledge of AEM 6.x and/or AEM as a Cloud Service
• Strong experience with Sling, OSGi, JCR, HTL, Dispatcher, workflows and Multi Site Manager
• Experience designing AEM Sites, Assets, Headless or hybrid implementations
• Strong understanding of GraphQL, REST APIs and Sling Models
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and SPA architecture
• Knowledge of BFF and API-driven architecture using Node.js, Java or Spring Boot
• Experience with CDN and edge platforms, caching and performance optimisation
• Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment models
• Understanding of security, authentication and authorisation, including OAuth 2.0, SAML and JWT
• Ability to translate complex technical needs into clear, pragmatic architectural decisions
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

Experience That Would Be a Plus

• Adobe AEM Architect, Developer or equivalent certification
• Hands-on AEM as a Cloud Service migration experience
• Multi-brand, multi-region or multilingual platform architecture
• Adobe Dynamic Media and image or video optimisation
• Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics or similar personalisation and analytics platforms
• CRM, commerce, identity or marketing technology integrations
