Ford Motor Company is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Communications team in Enterprise Technology in Dearborn, MI. You will design, develop, test, and maintain web applications with a focus on AEM and backend Java development.

This role emphasizes ownership, collaboration with product owners and stakeholders, and delivering scalable enterprise solutions using React and AEM. A strong software engineering foundation and a desire to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or similar.
• 2+ years of web development experience.
• Solid experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, HTTP, REST APIs, and web app fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and work independently.
• Genuine interest in learning and growing as a software engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications.
• Apply engineering principles to create clean, scalable solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
• Participate in code reviews and improve code quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Develop AEM components, templates, services, APIs, and integrations.
• Build modern web experiences using HTML, JS/TS, CSS, and frontend frameworks.
• Progressively take ownership of complex AEM and web initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end technical execution of Corporate Communications products with Product Owner and Tech Anchor for scalable React/AEM deployments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust user-focused solutions.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate cross-functionally to define requirements and architect solutions.
