Position: Architectural/Engineering Design Manager with Telecom Experience (no IT please)

The Candidate will be responsible for management of wireless telecommunication projects in the Texas market, including site walks, identifying site design requirements, and coordination with clients and sub-consultants while addressing construction issues. Ideally, this candidate should have several years of design experience within the telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Walk sites and identify design needs.
  2. Meet with clients.
  3. Coordinate between site design, technical design, and construction design.
  4. Work directly with staff and track site information and other design/project documentation.
  5. Ensure that teams keep customers informed of project progress, issues, and projected completion dates.
  6. Monitor the preparation and updates of site status reports and attend client meetings as required.
  7. Deliver A&E plans from remote teams.

Qualifications:

  1. Qualified candidate must be located in the market.
  2. Qualified candidate must be able to meet with clients in the market.
  3. Knowledge in telecommunications/tower power design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout, and related activities.
  4. Good working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes.
  5. Good communication skills, including interaction with clients and contractors.
  6. Able to work independently with basic design direction.
  7. Must be a team player with the ability to work with partners across different departments and companies.
  8. A work ethic to drive projects and tasks to finish on time, overcoming any obstacles.
  9. Expertise to solve problems using past experience and existing resources, with a desire to take initiative.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Ability to use Project Management software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  3. Excellent computer/reporting skills, including a high level of proficiency with MS Excel and other database/project management tracking tools.
  4. Highly organized and able to multi-task and work effectively with limited supervision; highly motivated self-starter able to work under aggressive project schedules.
