Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking an AE Defense Life Cycle Engineer in Indianapolis, hybrid format (3 days on-site). You will provide reactive technical support for in-service events and lead root-cause analyses across cross-functional teams to prevent future customer disruptions.

The role requires a STEM degree (Bachelor's with 1+ year or Master's) and U.S. citizenship, with opportunities to engage with regulatory authorities and deploy safety improvements. Relocation support is provided.

• Participation in product level safety boards and in-service reviews with regulatory and airworthiness authorities.
• Initiating changes to technical publications associated with in-service hardware maintenance and ensuring appropriate hardware management.

Position Summary

As the AE Defense Life Cycle Service Engineer, you will provide reactive technical support for in-service events and proactive analysis to eliminate future customer disruption in connection with Rolls-Royce products. You will lead cross functional teams to determine root cause of in-service events. Using expertise and best practices in root cause analysis and in conjunction with teams consisting of component design, materials engineering, deployed services, and program personnel, you will achieve timely resolution of customer issues. This role will also proactively identify threats and take steps to eliminate them before they cause events in the field. To do this, you will apply your knowledge of the propulsion system along with data analytics tools to uncover trends in our fleet.

Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 1+ years of experience or Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) JD/PhD

• Previous experience conducting complex root cause analysis
