Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, software, controls, or systems and/or related degree.
  • Graduation between December 2026 and August 2027; Minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Work authorization: U.S. citizen required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with systems teams and customers to capture requirements for electrical components and hardware.
  • Architect, design, develop electrical hardware products through testing, diagnosing, and inspection.
  • Deliver a compliant sub-system level solution for R&D programs.
  • Identify and manage technical, cost, supply chain, and timescale risks; integrate in project plan.
  • Design for functional safety and security in aerospace environments.
  • Experience with EMI testing and environmental testing practices.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for covering the scope of electronic unit development for high integrity harsh environments. This includes accountability for architecture design, verification, process development and process improvement. You will design circuits that meet performance and reliability requirements for airworthy/certified electronic engine controllers and monitoring systems for use in a wide range of systems. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of projects including the initial architecture concept, the design and development stage, testing of prototypes and the final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working together to tackle technical challenges in a stimulating and collaborative environment.



What you’ll be doing


  • Collaborating with other systems teams and customers to fully capture and synthesize requirements for electrical components and hardware.

  • Architect, design, develop electrical hardware products through testing, diagnosing, and inspection throughout the R&D program lifecycle.

  • Executing electronics/hardware development activities and ensure the delivery of a compliant sub-system level solution for R&D programs.

  • Ensuring project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and timescale) are identified, managed (including integration of risk activities in the project plan) and escalated in accordance with the risk management plan.

  • Designing for functional safety and security, preferably within the aerospace industry.

  • Experience with various aerospace environmental and functional testing practices and methods including electromagnetic interference (EMI).

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, software, controls, or systems and/or related degree.

  • A willingness to work flexibly and travel between locations: in most cases, you’ll be able tomeettherequirements in the location you are recruited to, however, we may need you to be flexible and travel between sites.

  • An open-minded, curious, and agile approach to work and career development.

  • Ability to work independently or with a small team of engineers with cross‑functional skills to ensure all sub-system program objectives/deliverables are met.

  • Ability to work hands‑on in electronics development labs.

  • Experience with electrical or electronics product development, such as cable harnesses, printed circuit boards, or control panels preferred.

  • Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams of software engineering and mechanical packaging preferred.

  • Experience with Aerospace Defense engineering environments and restricted programs preferred.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (i.e., verbal, written, and presentation) for both expert and non-expert audiences preferred.

  • Experience with embedded electronics preferred.

  • Experience with Texas Instruments, Xilinx, Microchip microcontrollers or FPGAs or integrated control solutions preferred.

  • Experience with airworthiness and design assurance of hardware to DO-254 or military standards preferred.
