Job summary

Jasper County CASA is seeking an Advocate Supervisor to provide professional staff support to CASA volunteers and ensure sound advocacy and early permanency planning for children in the program. The role involves supervising volunteers, coordinating cases, and helping develop initial case plans and ongoing strategies for advocacy with CASA staff and partner agencies.

The Advocate Supervisor reports to the Program Supervisor and participates in staff meetings and trainings to support program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles - experience with volunteers preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
• Knowledge of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
• Commitment to CASA program's goals and mission.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and training of new volunteers.
• Review new cases and assign appropriate volunteers, in consultation with the CASA Program Staff.
• Prepare and distribute case assignment documentation.
• Help develop initial case plans and ongoing strategies for advocacy.
• Review and distribute volunteer court reports.
• Maintain electronic case files in Optima.
• Attend court hearings and track court dates.
• Collaborate with agency professionals such as case workers, juvenile officers, guardian ad litems, and more.
• Provide assistance and consultation for volunteers as needed and when requested.
• Assist in completion of volunteer and case documentation reports.
• Participate in volunteer evaluations as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and assist in the evaluation of the program.
• Attend in-service trainings and assist with coordination if requested.
• Assist with volunteer appreciation events.
• Provide office coverage as assigned by the Executive Director and Program Supervisor.
• Complete work time sheets bi-weekly.
• Attend conferences/seminars/meetings as requested by the Executive Director and Program Supervisor.
• Complete 12 hours of continuing education per year as required by National CASA.
• Participate in performance evaluations of this position as directed by the Executive Director and Program Supervisor.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or Program Supervisor

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Advocate Supervisor reports directly to the Program Supervisor, who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.
