Job summary

Laurens County SAFE Home is seeking a full-time advocate to support survivors of domestic violence across Laurens, Abbeville and Saluda counties. The position offers a salary range of $35,000 to $39,000, with pay commensurate with experience and education.

The advocate will assist clients with orders of protection, safety planning, hearings, intake and referrals, staying in close contact with law enforcement and partner agencies, and supporting volunteers and staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in human services or related field.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation and current insurance coverage.
• Commitment to mission with compassion, integrity, collaboration and equity.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• Complete Victim Service provider credentials within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in filing and obtaining orders of protection and safety plans; attend hearings with clients.
• Provide intake, complete paperwork, and connect clients to services through information and referrals.
• Maintain communication with law enforcement and victim assistance offices across three counties.
• Coordinate client services with staff and oversee volunteers as needed.
• Share information about SAFE Home’s services with clients and other providers; participate in trainings and meetings.
