Brooklyn Community Services (Inc) seeks an Advocate Counselor for Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service to re-engage over-aged and under-credited students through counseling, case management, referrals, and crisis intervention.   • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • MSW preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated case management support with youth and families.
  • College preparatory experience required.
  • Fingerprinting and background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic planning and case management for ~40 students.
  • Provide weekly individual and daily group counseling.
  • Assist youth in attending school regularly and develop postsecondary plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and mediation when needed.
  • Engage with families through outreach and meetings.
  • Document all work and maintain case records.
