Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Hourly Advocate to serve youth and families across Montgomery County. The role focuses on direct advocacy within the community, using a wraparound model to organize and implement supportive services for assigned participants and their families.

Flexible hours and competitive weekly pay are offered. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, experience with at-risk youth, proficiency in MS Office, and reliable transportation;

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to participants and their families.
• Utilize a wrap around model to guide service plans.
• Provide supportive services to youth and families in the community, school and home settings.

Job description

Status: Part-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout Montgomery County Area and Surrounding Areasare available.

• Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.
• The Primary responsibilitiesof the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
• All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an electronic health record system is a plus.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance coverage is required.
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.
