Addison Group is hiring a Part-Time Advocacy Advisor to support a global nonprofit's U.S. foreign policy work in Washington, DC. The role centers on monitoring legislative activity, preparing research briefs, and keeping internal teams informed of congressional developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 8 years of experience on Capitol Hill or federal government relations.
• Strong knowledge of congressional procedures and federal policymaking.
• Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor congressional and executive branch activity, including proposed legislation, committee hearings, oversight efforts, nominations, and executive actions.
• Evaluate policy and political developments affecting nonprofits, philanthropy, civil society, and advocacy priorities.
• Identify opportunities for congressional outreach and provide insight into legislative priorities and Capitol Hill dynamics.
• Prepare weekly congressional updates and reports summarizing key developments and implications.
• Develop briefing documents, conduct background research, and provide timely policy updates as requested.
• Collaborate with internal teams across legal, communications, and U.S. programs to coordinate policy-related efforts.
• Research congressional offices, including relevant contacts and areas of focus.
