Job summary

Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services seeks an advocate and outreach professional to develop education and advocacy initiatives for teachers, families, and community partners. The role focuses on coordinating trainings, building partnerships, and advancing accessibility for people served.

You will support staff with trainings, collaborate with providers, and attend community events to promote developmental disabilities perspectives and advocacy opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, special education, psychology, or related field.
• Three years of full-time paid work experience in programs or services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to travel within Hamilton County as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement agency-wide education, outreach, and advocacy initiatives for teachers, transition professionals, staff, developmental disabilities providers, families, advocates, and community partners.
• Provide ongoing advocacy trainings, education, and opportunities responsive to the needs of people served and their families; support staff in facilitating trainings.
• Partner with developmental disabilities providers and community organizations to create regular, person-led advocacy opportunities and increase community awareness.
