Job summary

KPMG is seeking an Advisory Intern for our Advisory practice in the U.S. You will assist in two key areas: M&A activities and Performance Transformation, helping clients improve EBITDA and working capital through growth, margin, and cost initiatives.

You will gather data, analyze markets and financials, build financial models, and contribute to client discussions. This internship emphasizes learning, collaboration, and delivering actionable insights across engagements.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in business, CS, data analytics, economics, engineering, or math.
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility; professional demeanor and leadership.
• Ability to leverage MS Office and AI; quickly learn KPMG tools used by clients.
• Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills; professional judgment.
• Must reside within commutable distance to the office; US work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Help support clients across two major areas, 1) end-to-end Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), which includes commercial due diligence, operational due diligence, integration & separation planning and implementation and 2) Performance Transformation, which includes helping companies improve EBITDA and working capital through growth, margin and cost initiatives
• Gather and analyze companies, markets, financials and other information
• Generate hypotheses from data/information received by client and identify and execute supporting quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Design and develop financial models to analyze financial and operational performance
• Facilitate meetings and conduct interviews to ensure objectives are met
• Communicate findings of analysis and key implications in written and verbal formats
• Synthesize outputs into actionable takeaways and business recommendations

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors; Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Computer Science, Data & Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar field from an accredited college or university
• Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
• Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
• Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients
• Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity
• Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office / client locations to satisfactorily fulfill your job duties, as determined by your practice leadership
• Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need; you must be located within the U.S. when working remotely; client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay
