  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, explain variances, and support accurate reporting and business decisions.
  • Review Gas-related transactions and data for completeness, accuracy, proper classification, and alignment with underlying business activity; elevate unusual or noncompliant items as appropriate.
  • Prepare clear reports, presentations, account analyses, and supporting documentation for management, audit, compliance, and control activities.
  • Provide information and guidance on accounting processes, policies, and system workflows; resolve routine questions and refer matters requiring policy interpretation or additional approval.
  • Support internal controls and audit activities by reviewing control execution, maintaining reliable evidence, identifying gaps, and helping address exceptions.
  • Use financial, reconciliation, close, workflow, analytical, and standard office systems to manage data, support reporting, and improve the quality and timeliness of accounting work.
  • Contribute to process improvements, knowledge sharing, and coordination with internal partners and managed-service providers while maintaining accountability for assigned commitments.

What You’ll Bring - Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Typically 5 or more years of progressive experience in accounting, financial operations, energy marketing accounting, or a closely related field
  • Intermediate proficiency with accounting fundamentals, journal entries, ledgers, reconciliations, or financial reporting
  • Intermediate proficiency using standard office software and financial data, reconciliation, close, workflow, or analytical systems

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred

  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, settlements, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Experience with Natural Gas accounting in the oil and gas, energy marketing, commodity trading, or midstream industry
  • Experience coordinating work with Capgemini or another managed-service provider
  • Experience with Allegro, SAP S/4, BlackLine, Alteryx, MDG, or comparable enterprise resource planning, energy trading, close, workflow, or master-data systems
  • Experience supporting complex assets, pools, strategies, balancing, transfer pricing, intercompany validation, margins, estimates, or SOX review
  • Experience leading cross-functional issue resolution, UAT, system integration, process redesign, or continuous improvement
  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward a professional accounting certification
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, data analysis, and working with large or imperfect data sets
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional issue resolution or influencing outcomes without formal authority
