Job summary

Youth World Physical Education is seeking a Color Guard Advisor in Bellingham, MA for a stipend position. The role directs and supervises practices, performances, parades, and related activities under the building principal's oversight.

A stipend of $2,600 is offered for the season. The advisor will train students in color guard routines with flags, rifles, and sabers, choreograph field movements, and support the band director during marching lessons and performances.

Qualifications

• Must be experienced with performing on guard equipment including flag, rifle, and saber.
• Must be able to teach the technical skills for various guard equipment as required by the field show and needs of the ensemble.
• Must be able to choreograph guard moves for marching field show and parade events.
• Must be able to teach marching skills to guard consistent with the band’s system of marching and vocabulary.
• Should be willing to assist band director and majorette coach with marching lessons for entire ensemble.
• Must be organized to keep track of inventory such as drill charts, uniforms and equipment.
• Must keep regular practice hours every week in coordination with the band’s rehearsal times.
• Must be present to supervise and assist guard students at all performances including football games, parades, ceremonies, etc.
• Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
