The Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) at University of Michigan seeks an Advising Manager to lead a small team and oversee advising for study abroad programs. The role focuses on admissions, training, and ensuring inclusive advising across diverse student populations.
Hybrid or remote work options are available; you will collaborate with program partners and coordinate across departments to support student success and program quality.

The Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) develops inclusive and accessible educational opportunities around the globe, primarily for LSA undergraduates. With approximately 115 study abroad and international internship programs around the world, students with diverse academic interests can pursue an international experience. Our academically rich programs foster intellectual curiosity and intercultural understanding by encouraging students and faculty to engage with host communities through conscious and responsible participation. CGIS is committed to furthering diversity within study abroad.
Responsibilities of the CGIS Advising Manager are described below.
30% Supervise a team of 3 or 4 International Program Advisors:
30% Provide advising services for a small portfolio of programs
30% Student support, events, and outreach:
Promote study among a large range of students, including those who may not have previously considered study abroad.
10% Special projects as assigned:
