Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks an Academic Advising Manager for the Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program (MJLSP). The role provides leadership for advising services, supports staff, and maintains a direct advising caseload to promote scholars' academic and personal success.

In partnership with campus stakeholders, you will lead advising-related programs, coordinate events, supervise staff, ensure FERPA compliance, and contribute to retention and graduation efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience serving student populations.
• Experience in advising, coaching, or supporting undergraduate students is required.
• Ability to plan and execute curricular and co-curricular programming.
• Knowledge of academic resources and modes of student success.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engages students as needed.
• Maintains expertise with advised curriculum and may assist in policy exceptions.
• Receives, processes, and responds to academic inquiries per policies.
• Supports students in leadership, academic, personal, social, and career development through co-curricular activities.
• Participates in campus-wide advising community and program development.
• Supervises staff and allocates resources within advising/academic services.
• Maintains confidentiality and FERPA compliance with student records.
• Develops and implements academic advising events such as workshops and panels.
• Main point of contact for students; guides educational options and referrals.
