Adventureland Park is seeking a Rides Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair amusement rides and facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance, test rides, diagnose issues, and repair system malfunctions to ensure safe, continuous operation and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include daily pre-opening inspections, urgent trouble response, and adherence to manufacturer specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read manuals are essential.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent; related maintenance experience preferred.
• 1-2 years in maintenance or mechanics is highly desired.
• Experience with rides or attractions is a plus but not required.
• English reading/writing/speaking required; bilingual is a plus.

The Rides Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment and facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing issues, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur.

This position plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of park rides and attractions, which, in turn, strengthens guest satisfaction.

Adventureland Park - Rides Maintenance Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of attractions and property.
• Ability to diagnose and correct mechanical issues.
• Respond to trouble calls with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.
• Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers ' requirements and specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC Cleaning, door/ lock repair, plumbing, cleaning, painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that arise
• Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
• Utilize the proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job.
• Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner
• Complete repair work orders in a timely manner .
• Keep the maintenance and park leaders fully informed of any corrective issues needed.
• All other duties assigned by leadership.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
• 1-2 years previous work experience in maintenance or mechanics highly desired.
• Previous work experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides , or other attractions desired but not required
• Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
• Must possess proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and small combustion engine repair
• Ability to tear down and correctly reassemble machines, equipment or devices
• Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Familiarity and experience with theme park ride mechanics a plus
• Familiarity with state and local codes as they relate to theme park attractions
• Must provide own tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, standard socket set up to 1 inch, and metric socket set up to 24mm .

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of time
• Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more
• Ability to work in all non -conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
• Ability to c onsistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
• Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
• Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases
