Job summary

The American Youth Foundation seeks a High Ropes Specialist to lead adventure-based activities for campers in elementary through high school. You will supervise campers, run archery, ropes course, and climbing blocks, and maintain safety and attendance records.

You’ll live on-site at Miniwanca during training and camp sessions, with meals provided and 24-hour on-call coverage for emergencies. Applicants should have First Aid/CPR and climbing instruction credentials and a passion for youth

Qualifications

• Must have First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience working with youth in a camp or program.
• Strong teaching/facilitation skills with children.
• Ability to assess risks and maintain safety during activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise campers, ensure health and safety, and support care during activities.
• Lead 2–3 adventure groups daily: archery, ropes course, climbing wall.
• Instruct climbing techniques and belaying; monitor safety protocols.
• Assist with program planning, scheduling, and resource inventory.
