Job summary

American Youth Foundation seeks a Seasonal High Ropes Specialist to lead adventure-based programs (archery, ropes course, climbing wall) for campers across age groups. The role focuses on safety, camper attendance, and equipment maintenance, with housing and meals provided on-site.

You will supervise campers, plan lesson blocks, and coordinate with the Activities team to deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities while maintaining strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 with exceptions noted; First Aid and CPR certification (training available).
• Climbing-specific training and certification (training available).
• Strong teaching/facilitation skills to work with youth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of campers.
• Lead 2–3 adventure interest groups and blocks daily (archery, ropes course, climbing wall).
• Plan multi-day curriculums and differentiate by skill level.
• Instruct climbing techniques and belaying; assess belaying for safety.
• Support additional program areas and staffing as needed.
• Maintain equipment safety and incident documentation.
