YMCA is seeking a Certified Operator Counselor to supervise challenge course activities for youth in a part-time, non-exempt role in Charlotte, NC. You will ensure safety, perform pre-use checks, and maintain equipment while engaging participants and families in a positive environment.

You will lead youth through daily activities, document safety measures, and respond to emergencies. ACCT certification and First Aid/ CPR are required or obtainable within 30 days; must be 18+ with outdoor

Qualificações

• Must be 18 years or older.
• 1–2 seasons in an outdoor experience environment.
• Experience with challenge course, adventure park, or zip line.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• First Aid/CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days.
• Commitment to inclusion and positive youth development.
• Complete YMCA safety and risk training at hire.

Responsabilidades

• Recognize risks and conduct activities safely.
• Perform pre-use checks and document maintenance.
• Set up, operate, and take down course equipment.
• Provide supervision and engagement for participants.
• Brief participants on necessary safety information.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with staff.
• Attend trainings and program meetings.
• Maintain program site and records.
