Job summary

Easter Seals Wisconsin Camps seeks a Camp Counselor to ensure health and safety for assigned campers (1–3) during seasonal sessions at YMCA Camp Wigi. Camps occur in December, March, and August, with weekend sessions in December and March and a full week in August.

You will engage campers in planned activities, assist with ADLs, and foster a respectful, inclusive environment while documenting notable events and coordinating with staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a high-school diploma or GED.
• Be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Engage campers in daily planned activities, improvise as needed, and adapt to changes.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene while encouraging independence and self-care.
• Interact with campers in a respectful, age-appropriate and culturally-appropriate manner.
• Assist with teaching, coordinating, and carrying out planned activities.
• Promote a positive environment and model person-centered practices.
• Treat campers, staff, customers and visitors with professionalism and respect.
• Document camper activities, incidents, or notable events as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
