Job summary

Easter Seals TN in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Camp Counselor to help ensure the health and safety of campers during the camp session at the YMCA Camp Wigi site. Camps run December, March (weekends) and August (full week).

You will engage campers in activities, assist with daily living tasks, promote a positive, respectful environment, and document notable events. Must be 18+, HS diploma, and able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High-school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check. (as required)

Responsibilities

• Engage campers in daily planned activities, improvise, and adjust to changes in activities.
• Provide assistance with personal care and hygiene; support independence and self-care.
• Interact with campers, staff, customers and visitors in a respectful, age-appropriate manner.
• Help with teaching, coordinating, and carrying out planned activities.
• Promote a positive environment.
• Model and promote person-centered practices and respectful interactions.
• Document camper activities and incidents as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
