Job summary

Prolec-GE Waukesha is seeking a skilled welder to proficiently weld in multiple areas, including Tank Weld, Top Cover Weld, and Small Parts. The role involves setting up welding operations, reading engineering prints, and performing MIG, TIG, and submerged-arc welding on carbon and stainless steels.

You will work under supervision, operate various welding equipment, and help maintain quality and safety standards across transformer-related weldments. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and submerged-arc welding preferred.
• Ability to read engineering prints and weld symbols.
• Knowledge of carbon steel and stainless steel welding.

Responsibilities

• Receive assignments from supervisor and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Set up welds selecting rods, wire, and machine settings.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and submerged-arc welding on steel structures.
• Read blueprints and follow quality guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain clean work area and perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Inspect welds for conformance to specs.
