Job summary

The City of Oxnard's Public Works Department seeks an Advanced Water Treatment Operator to join the Water Division. This role supports safe drinking water delivery and customer service, reporting to the Advanced Water Treatment Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining the Advanced Water Purification Facility, calibrating controls, collecting data, and preparing reports for regulatory compliance, while upholding safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of treatment plant operation experience.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record; T3 or Grade III wastewater certificate required by hire; CWEA-AWWA AWTO 3 within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Advanced Water Purification Facility systems.
• Calibrate controls and analyze readings.
• Monitor plant data and prepare reports for compliance.
• Utilize SCADA to monitor trends and alarms.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Document logs and manage inventory.
