Job summary
Amentum is seeking an Intermediate Level Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support projects from studies to turnkey supply. You will develop hardware diagrams, write control software, and interface with facility equipment across international sites.
Collaborate with engineers, meet deadlines, mentor junior staff, and contribute to proposals while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years in control or data acquisition design, implementation, and commissioning.
- US Citizenship; PE registration a plus.
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE and PLC/HMI software environments (Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson).
- Experience selecting and procuring process instrumentation and automation hardware.
Responsibilities
- Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for control and data acquisition systems.
- Develop control system software designs for temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, motion, and safety.
- Develop PLC ladder logic, function block, and HMI programming.
- Interface facility equipment via hardwired interfaces and industrial networks.
- Lead control and data acquisition projects through design, fabrication, implementation, testing and commissioning.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure project success.
