Job summary

Amentum Advanced Solutions in the United States is seeking an Intermediate Level Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support projects from small studies to multi-million dollar turn-key efforts. You will work with a team of engineers to ensure client satisfaction and delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Mechatronics/Computer Engineering, 3+ years in control or data acquisition, and hands-on PLC/HMI software experience. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of experience in control or data acquisition system design, implementation, and commissioning.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is a plus.
• Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, and SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE; PLC and HMI programming in major environments.
• Experience selecting and procuring instrumentation and automation hardware.
• Strong math background for data uncertainty, digital filters, transfer functions, and simulations.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline engineering teams and mentor junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for control and data acquisition systems.
• Develop control system software designs for temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, motion, system safety and related processes.
• Develop PLC and HMI software in ladder logic, function block, and related languages.
• Interface with facility equipment using hardwired interfaces and industrial networks.
• Lead control and data acquisition projects through design, fabrication, implementation, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
• Estimate system design, material, installation, checkout, commissioning, and activation.
