Job summary

Harvey Performance Company is seeking an Advanced Technology Engineer to drive innovation in manufacturing at our Gorham, ME facility. You will evaluate, pilot, and deploy automation and Industry 4.0 solutions, collaborating with engineering, operations, and quality teams to scale production.

Role focuses on transitioning from product development to full-scale manufacturing, with cross-functional support and hands-on development of new processes and documentation for ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• CNC grinding and programming experience required (5+ years preferred).
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• CAD/CAM software experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia, etc.).
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Support projects to improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
• Identify opportunities to boost productivity, reduce cycle times, and increase machine efficiency.
• Develop, test, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to test new products and improve processes.
• Create and update work instructions and documentation for manufacturing operations.
• Train and support employees on new equipment, processes, and technology.

The Opportunity

The Advanced Technology Engineer serves as a technical expert in advanced manufacturing technologies, responsible for driving innovation, improving manufacturing capability, and enabling scalable production solutions primarily at the Gorham location. This role focuses on evaluating, piloting, and deploying advanced technologies, including automation, Industry 4.0 solutions, and production control systems, while also supporting the transition from product development to full‑scale manufacturing. The position works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure that new technologies are effectively integrated into manufacturing processes.

In This Role, You Will

You’ll Bring

• Strong knowledge of cutting tool manufacturing processes.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Interest in learning new manufacturing technologies and improving existing processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• CAD / CAM software experience, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, Catia, etc.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methods.
• Experience with automation, manufacturing software, or production monitoring.
• Project management or technical documentation experience.
