Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a Surgical Tech II to assist the surgical team in the operating room. You will prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain aseptic technique, and support complex procedures in Head/Neck, Neuro, Spine, and Orthopedic cases at Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles.

The role requires a CA-accredited Surgical Technician program, CST certification, BLS, and active practice within the last six months.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technician Program is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician or as a Surgical Technician intern, paid.
• Active practice as a Surgical Technician within the six months prior to application.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and time-management abilities.
• CST certification and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and supplies.
• Assist in the scrub role and pass instruments during surgeries.
• Support the surgical team and anticipate needs during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and communicate changes in patient status.
• Prepare the operating room and assist in post-procedure cleanup.
