Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa seeks an experienced General & Bariatric Surgical APP to provide comprehensive care across the surgical journey, from preop assessment to long-term follow-up. You will work with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

This role requires PA/NP licensure, BLS, 1+ year experience, and a commitment to patient-centered care within a faith-based health system. On-site schedule in Tampa, Florida with day shift and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.
• 1+ years of related work experience.
• Current and unrestricted state licensure as a PA or APRN.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage general and bariatric surgical patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Perform procedures within scope and guidelines.
• Provide preoperative assessments and optimize patients for surgery.
• Assist with postoperative management, wound care, and pain control.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, expectations, weight management, and care plans.
• Monitor bariatric patients across the continuum of care and coordinate with care teams.
• Document encounters in the EMR and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
