Job summary
Southview Animal Hospital in West St. Paul, MN seeks a skilled LVT for Surgery & Anesthesia to join our growing team. You will work with surgeons, our advanced imaging team, and urgent care to provide advanced surgical care and anesthesia management.
The role emphasizes teaching, collaboration, and delivering exceptional patient care in a modern, multidisciplinary hospital setting with opportunities to work on exotic cases and complex anesthetic management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years veterinary technician experience.
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient care skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Preferred AVMA-accredited program; CVT/RVT/LVT credentialed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery, including catheter placement and surgical prep.
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia for a variety of procedures.
- Continuously monitor anesthetized patients using advanced monitoring equipment.
- Assist veterinarians during soft tissue, orthopedic, emergency, and specialty procedures.
- Maintain accurate anesthesia and treatment records.
- Ensure proper sterilization, maintenance, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment.
