Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Rayville, LA is seeking an Intermediate Welder to plan, lay out, weld, install, and repair structural steel per plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards. You will set up welding machines, preheat and weld components, and perform repairs on FCAW-S, FCAW-G, GMAW, SMAW and SAW while following safety rules. This role requires standing on a construction site, irregular hours, and the ability to read instructions; a high school diploma is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in welding field preferred.
• Able to read drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to follow safety rules and communicate with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines according to job specs.
• Preheat and weld components as specified by blueprints, symbols, specs, or procedures.
• Weld processes FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress-relieving machine and other equipment.
• Make welding repairs and fix substandard welds.
