Job summary

Aleron is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer for Space and Embedded Crypto in Scottsdale, AZ, with hybrid/flex work options. This contract-to-direct role focuses on developing secure software for space and embedded cryptographic platforms within defense and aerospace contexts.

Ideal candidates have strong experience in Rust or C/C++, embedded software, and secure coding practices, and can collaborate across cross-functional teams including hardware and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 3+ years.
• 5+ years of experience developing software applications, embedded software, or firmware.
• 3+ years of experience programming in Rust and/or C/C++.
• 3+ years of experience developing software for embedded platforms or resource-constrained environments.
• 3+ years of experience supporting software integration, testing, debugging, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for embedded cryptographic and space-based systems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, verification, and deployment.
• Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions for mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and cybersecurity teams to integrate software into embedded platforms.
• Support software troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, and system validation activities.
• Apply software engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices throughout development efforts.
• Contribute to Agile development activities, sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support innovation efforts by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies and development approaches.
