Job summary

Rincon Research Corporation seeks an Advanced Software Engineer to design real-time cloud processing solutions and implement DSP-based algorithms in C++ and Python on Linux. You will test with real data, create user interfaces and visualization tools, and contribute to cutting-edge geolocation and communications projects for national security.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software engineering, a degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, and can obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• Minimum 8 years' experience in software engineering
• Proficient in C++ and Python in Linux environments
• Proficient in modern software engineering practices for testability and readability
• Able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required
• Preferred: DevOps/Cloud experience (GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)

What are the primary responsibilities in the Advanced Software Engineer position?

Core responsibilities include designing real-time cloud processing solutions, implementing advanced signal processing and geolocation algorithms with efficient software, testing with real data, and providing applications to front-line customer facilities. You create effective user interfaces and data visualization tools. A key responsibility is staying up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies and experimenting with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects. RRC personnel can expect to work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment and O&M, and experience the direct mission feedback from the customer and seeing your project provide real-world contributions that make a significant difference. You’re encouraged and expected to propose things that you believe will improve the applications and frameworks you’re working in. The ability to work unsupervised with minimal direction and the ability to self-start is a must.

Candidates must be available for a potential on-site interview on October 7 and 8 at our Centennial facility.

What required background will make you successful?

• Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• Minimum 8 years' experience in software engineering-related discipline
• Proficient in modern software engineering practices for testability and readability
• Proficient in C++ and Python in LINUX environments
• Demonstrated ability to design software systems to ensure they achieve functionality, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements
• Able and willing to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance - US citizenship required

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with AI-Assisted Development tools
• DevOps and Cloud computing Experience (Gitlab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)
• Ability to mentor other engineers and provide technical advice to project leaders
• Active TS/SCI clearance

*The likely salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
