Job summary

Grady Health System seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, airway management, and advanced ventilation support, across adult and pediatric populations. The role involves coordinated care with physicians and the health care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualified candidates will have an RRT, GA licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2+ years of pediatric and 3+ years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in respiratory care.
• Two years of pediatric experience in critical and acute care.
• Three years of experience in acute care.
• Two years of experience in critical care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the NBRC.
• Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) licensure by the State of Georgia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and initiates oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, oxygenation/ventilation assessment.
• Administers prescribed medication during aerosol therapy per protocol assessment.
• Performs CPR and airway management, including intubation according to AHA guidelines.
• Initiates and maintains advanced ventilation modes and monitors cardiovascular parameters.
• Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement for ED.
• Equipment cleaning and setup; stocking respiratory supplies.
• Assists with performing EKGs and may float between Grady main campus and FSED.
